Vuelta a Burgos (et. 2)

Italian already in 4th place overall in Burgos after another top fight in the demanding finish of the Castillo - Moreno (KAT) gets back-to-back victories

After coming in 7th place yesterday during the inaugural stage of the 34th Vuelta a Burgos in Ojo Guareña, Italian Giovanni Visconti was again the strongest Movistar Team rider on day two, over 141 kilometers between the province’s capital city and the Alto del Castillo (Cat. 3), with three passages that caused many alternatives at the front of the bunch. The telephone squad was made most of the effort in pursuit of Belda (BUR) and Sicard (EUS), reached by Ramírez Abeja (AND), Etxeberria (ORB) and Verona (BUR) halfway into the stage and staying away until the final 15k.

Coming back from a bad position, Visconti profited from his strong sensations to reach the finish in 4th place as he led a ten-man group that came nine seconds behind the race’s leader Dani Moreno (KAT), with Javi Moreno (14th), Arroyo and Pardilla less than twenty seconds behind the leaders. Visconti will have two more shots at the triumph: the cobbled finish of Lema on Friday -159 kilometers, featuring the Alto del Arroyo (Cat. 3) and two passages through the Majadal (Cat. 3)- and the demanding ascent towards the Ciudad Romana de Clunia (Saturday).
