Latest Spanish winner of the Tour de l'Avenir, 23, becomes Blues' second recruit for next season after neo-pro Marc Soler

Spaniard Rubén Fernández, 23, will join the Movistar Team next season on a two-year contract. The Murcia-born youngster, coming from the Caja Rural squad, is the second signing of the telephone squad this summer, after Catalan neo-pro Marc Soler (20), from team Lizarte, was announced two weeks ago.

Fernández is one of the biggest prospects in Spanish cyclist and the latest rider from the country to have claimed overall success in the prestigious Tour de l'Avenir. His outstanding performance in 2013 saw him beating another bright hopeful in Britain's Adam Yates. Fernández's 2014 palmarès includes sixth-place finishes in both the Vuelta a Murcia and the Volta ao Algarve; he was also 12th in the Tour of Norway.
