Tour de Romandie (st. 4)

Küng (BMC) wins stage four in Romandie as Movistar Team keeps working to procted Nairo Quintana before Saturday's Queen stage

Champex-Lac (Cat-1) will bring the 69th edition of the Tour de Romandie to a climax on Saturday after world individual pursuit champion Stefan Küng (BMC) took a long break to fruition in Fribourg, with a solo action into the final 30km.

Having shown determination on Thursday, even searching for the attacks into the climbs, Nairo Quintana rode more protected by the Movistar Team riders today, with Imanol Erviti as biggest support under relentless rain, which combined with incesant ups and down, got the bunch reduced to about sixth riders -52" behind the solo leader- with Amador (11th), Nairo, Castroviejo, Anacona and Capecchi in.

Mosses, Giettes and Petite Forclaz, all of them Cat-1 ascents, will be the menu for a demanding stage five, which together with the 17km ITT showdown in Lausanne, will decide a GC which sees Quintana now 1' behind Michael Albasini (OGE).
