Eneco Tour (final report)

Movistar Team finishes the Eneco Tour with Malori’s 3rd in ITT as best result; Rojas, Amador and Lobato all building up on form towards late-season goals

Tim Wellens (LTS) took the final win in the 11th Eneco Tour after the last stage (188km) saw no dangerous attacks between the favorites in the Flemish ‘hellingen’ -a double ascent towards the Kapelmuur was on the day’s programme-. Manuel Quinziato (BMC) took the day’s honours after surviving from a 14-man break formed up in the beginning of the stage.

Movistar Team, absent into that move, tried to counter from behind with Sütterlin and José Joaquín Rojas, the latir ending up as top Movistar Team finisher in 21st spot. The form progression by both the Spaniard, Andrey Amador and Juanjo Lobato, all of them searching for success in late-season goals, was the most remarkable note for a squad which came close to a stage win on Thursday in the Hoogerheide ITT with Adriano Malori (3rd place).
