Tirreno-Adriatico lineup

Nairo supported by strong Movistar Team at 52nd Tirreno-Adriatico, back at Italian race after Terminillo exhibition en route to overall success in 2015

Nairo Quintana will be the Movistar Team's captain at the 52nd edition of Tirreno-Adriatico. The 'Cóndor from Boyacá', who is wrapping up the first part of his Giro d'Italia preparations at the very same country he'll contest pink come May, will seek for success in a race he already came victorious from in 2015, with an excellent climb towards victory in a snow-covered Terminillo.

The Colombian will again tackle that summit as part of a very interesting route, which features two other lumpy finishes -Pomarance (stage 2), Fermo (st. 5)-, tricky arrivals -Montalto di Castro (st. 3), Civitanova Marche (st. 6)- and two time trials: an opening, 22.7-kilometer TTT in Lido di Camaiore and a 10km ITT showdown in San Benedetto del Tronto.

Quintana will have a strong team by his side at the Italian WorldTour event. Andrey Amador, Jonathan Castroviejo, Jasha Sütterlin, Alex Dowsett and Nelson Oliveira will be a guarantee of success for the team time trial, while Daniele Bennati and Dani Moreno will try, together with the former, to keep the Blues' designated leader safe as well into the flat as in the abundant mountains the 'Race of the Two Seas' contains in 2017.
