'Vueltina' ridden this weekend

Nairo to lead Movistar Team at Spanish race's 60th edition; three lumpy stages on the menu, including a mountain-top finish in the Acebo (Sunday 30)

Nairo Quintana (Movistar Team) landed this very week in Europe to tackle the Giro-Tour double. Before that, though, the 'Cóndor from Boyacá' will finetune his approach to the 'Corsa Rosa' at the 60th Vuelta a Asturias, from Saturday 29th to Monday, May 1st.

The Colombian will find the perfect roads to complete his preparations for the Giro in the Spanish event. Five small climbs on stage one, 169km from Oviedo to Pola de Lena, will leave room to a mountain-top finish on day two, the Alto del Acebo (Cat-1), ending a 177km trek from Soto de Ribera. The showdown will be short and intense: 125km with a narrow, steep Violeo (Cat-2) ascent before the finish in Oviedo's Uría commercial street.

José Luis Laguía will head the Blues -a very young roster, under 25 average-, the eight-man lineup completed by Antonio Pedrero, José Herrada, Jorge Arcas, Dayer Quintana, Nuno Bico, Héctor Carretero and Carlos Barbero.
