BinckBank Tour (st. 3)

Dowsett, Sütterlin still within half a minute behind Küng (BMC) in BinckBank Tour overall, after stressful stage three on rough, narrow Belgian roads does not cause Blues any crashes. Sagan (BOH) wins again in Ardooie

The third stage of the BinckBank Tour -185km from Blankenberge to Ardooie on Belgian soil, after two days in the Netherlands- got the race back into its classic, Northern racing style, with lots of turns, rough roads, pace changes and even some rain into the final circuit that caused some crashes at the final 2km.

The Movistar Team riders got through the day safely and kept Dowsett, Izagirre, Erviti and Sütterlin, their main chances for the final days of racing, into the main bunch. Peter Sagan (BOH) claimed his second stage success at the bunch sprint.

Dowsett (12th) and Sütterlin (17th) are still 18" and 24" behind Stefan Küng (BMC). The Blue duo will have to keep again full attention on Thursday as they battle through a short (154km), intense stage four looping around Lanaken, on similar roads to today's.
