Premier international outlet specialized in cycling underlines Telefónica-backed squad's efforts to bring same tehcnical means to both men's and women's teams in interview with Jorge Sanz

Australian website Cyclingnews, one of the most relevant cycling portals in the world, published Wednesday an interview with the sports director of the women’s Movistar Team, Jorge Sanz, who speaks favorably on the efforts by Telefónica and Abarca Sports to foster equality and development of women’s sport in Spain.

“Telefónica’s sponsorship of a women’s team is a reflection of one of its own values toward equality,” Sanz said. “It decided that now is the moment to support women in sport, and specifically cycling.”

“We are very happy about our team. We have a capable team, without a big leader, but with a medium-high level of talent. I think our weakness is inexperience but our undeveloped talent is our strength The team will give all the women the professional facilities and support needed to develop and reach the level we know they have. It will be a great year; I’m very sure because we know we have the talent.”
