The Movistar Team has defined its squad for the 101st edition of the Giro d’Italia, which starts in exactly one week’s time (Friday 4th May) with an ITT in Jerusalem, first of three stages scheduled in Israel.

The lineup is formed by Colombians Carlos Betancur and Dayer Quintana, Ecuador’s Richard Carapaz, Argentinian Eduardo Sepúlveda and Spaniards Víctor de la Parte, Rubén Fernández, Antonio Pedrero and Rafa Valls. Chente García Acosta and Pablo Lastras be the Blues’ sports directors at the 22nd appearance of Eusebio Unzué’s squad in the Italian grandtour.

The Telefónica-backed squad’s roster for the Giro will be one of the youngest lineups to take the start in this year’s race, with six of its eight members aged 28 or under and three absolute debutants in the race: Carapaz, Pedrero and Sepúlveda. The Movistar Team will travel to Israel early next week.
