GP Montréal
195.2 Kilometers
Starting in 2018, the GP Montréal will have a more definite, distinct character in comparison with its ‘counterpart’ of the Canadian WorldTour weekend. A change of route in the final part of its circuit, now comprising less straights and an added climb, the Côte de Claude-Champagne (800m at 4%), will make the race even more suited to the climbers, who will enjoy 4,500 meters of elevation gain in the 195km course.
The rest of the circuit will be similar to previous editions of the race. Right after the end of each lap, the riders will take on the Côte Camilien-Houde, 1800m at 8% gradient. From its top, a four-kilometer descent will take the peloton to the city’s University to climb the steeper Côte de la Polytechnique, with 800m at 6% that include a final slope at 11%. After Claude-Champagne, the finish at the Avenue du Parc will offer 600m at 4%, which usually make for an agonic, different kind of sprint.
