Analysis

After their victory with Mavi García at the previous Sunday’s opener in Noja, the Movistar Team will be back to the Spanish Racing Series with a shorter squad for race number two. Caspe, the capital town of the Lower Aragon, holds the 2nd edition of its Trofeowith a gentle route, yet full of little ascents, on wide open roads and, differently to Cantabria’s event, held basically as a point-to-point race rather than a circuit.

103km will define the outcome of the elite / under23 race, whose most significant climbs will come with the slight uphill to Maella, just over 30km in, and after the village of Nonaspe, with less than 40km to go. It’s otherwise a race of short, not-so-lumpy sections, having come down to a 40-woman bunch sprint in its first edition. It will be down to the riders’ fighting spirit or the impact of winds to avoid that strong field reaching the line together.
