Blues to bring two squads to big Dutch one-day classic + second round of Spanish Racing Series in Aragon.
Following great results last week in Cantabria and the Basque Country, the Movistar Team will be back in action on Sunday with three different squads. In the Netherlands, Alejandro Valverde will be leading the Telefónica-backed squad at the 53ª edition of the Amstel Gold Race (262km; 35 small hills in Limburg). The marvel from Murcia will be joined by a strong squad -with José Luis Arrieta as DS- which features Mikel Landa, Andrey Amador, Imanol Erviti, José Joaquín Rojas, Carlos Betancur and Winner Anacona.
There will be two Movistar teams at the start in Maastricht, since the ladies directed by Jorge Sanz will line up at yet another round of the UCI Women’s WorldTour (117km, 17 climbs), with Mavi García, Alicia González, Lorena Llamas, Małgorzata Jasińska, Rachel Neylan and Aude Biannic. All ten riders of the Spanish women’s team will be racing this weekend, as Lourdes Oyarbide, Alba Teruel, Eider Merino and Gloria Rodríguez will take part in the 2nd edition of the Trofeo Ciudad de Caspe, led by sports director Pablo Lastras.
