Lotto Belgium Tour (finale)
French champion from Movistar -winners of the team GC- claims Blues’ second GC podium in a UCI race this season after finishing behind overall winner Lippert (SUN) in tough Geraardsbergen circuit.
They started their 2018 with a third-place overall finish at the Setmana Valenciana -with Alicia González- and are rounding it off in style with a second spot in one of their final appearances this season: the Lotto Belgium Tour (UCI 2.1). A sensational Aude Biannic got up to 2nd overall after four days of great efforts and implication from the whole Movistar Team on Flemish soil.

Gracias. (🎥 @motomediateam)
The grueling final circuit around Geraardsbergen (115km), with three ascents of the legendary Kapelmuur, saw the Blues going on another offensive, committed performance. González got to the podium as Most Aggressive rider of the stage -present in many moves, together with Lourdes Oyarbide–, as Malgorzata Jasinska and Biannic stayed with the top contenders until the very end. As the Polish champion (8th) remained into a first pursuit group of about ten riders, the Frenchwoman caught a move by Anouska Koster (WAD) into the penultimate lap alongside Liane Lippert (SUN / GER), who later bested Aude at the cobbled finish in Vesten to win by five seconds.
The bonus seconds at the end left Aude just nine seconds short to taking a third victory in 2018 -just three days after her success at the prologue in Nieuwpoort-. The Movistar Team, in turn, also saw their whole group’s efforts rewarded with the victory in the team competition.
