The Movistar Team will put an end at the GP Dottignies in Wallonia (UCI 1.2) to the first part of the classics campaign in northern Europe, the race also preceeding a two-week stop for the Blue ladies prior to the Ardennes.

It marks the second round of the Lotto Cycling Cup, a competition which started with the Omloop van het Hageland and Le Samyn and which currently sees the Movistar Team ranked 3rd in the individual standings (Fournier) and second in the teams’ classification. However, they’re not expected to cover any more races from the series this season.

The 122km Dottignies course comprises six laps of a circuit with no major climbs nor cobblestones, which means that the wind, the attacks and the direction / pace changes will be the only enemies to a predictable bunch sprint finish.
