Analysis

After quite a different 2020 season -in so many things-, the race turned into a sprinter’s party as the main preparation event for Milano-Sanremo, the 102nd edition of Milano-Torino gets back to its usual finishing venue: the Basilica di Superga, the big judge of an event otherwise flat for most of its 190km, starting from Magenta – just outside the capital city of Lombardy.

The climbs to Zimone (4.8km, 4.1%) and Cossano Canavese are the only difficulties prior to the final dual climb to Superga. It’s quite a regular ascent, with around 5km at 9% and maximum slopes of 14%. The first ascent is one kilometer shorter, taking a detour to face the downhill prior to the grueling finish.
