Ángel Arroyo repeats last year’s Tour stage victory as he wins in Morzine, where Delgado broke his collarbone while he was sitting in 5th overall. Another crash avoids the first team victory at the Tour de l’Avenir, when Carlos Hernández was in the lead. Three stages in the Vuelta, almost thirty over the year, are achieved. And, after taking part in the Los Angeles Olympics, Indurain débuts in the pro team in September.
