SECOND DOUBLE FOR MIGUEL
1993 – Banesto
1993 - Banesto Maillot

Banesto
1993

Despite the punch by Ugrumov in Italy and Rominger in France, Indurain takes his second consecutive Grand Tour double after magnificent work from all the squad, and is about to crown the season with the rainbow jersey in Oslo’s Worlds, where he gets beaten by a semi-unknown, 22-year-old rider called Lance Armstrong. For the second time in a now, Indurain finishes as the rider on top of the world leaderboard. José Luis Arrieta makes his first season into the team and becomes the youngest rider in the 1993 Giro d’Italia, only 21 years old.
