Analysis

The Movistar Team is back in Brittany once again in this 2021 season, having already visited the region for the Grand Départ of the Tour de France back in June, to compete at what was traditionally known as the Grand Prix of Plouay. The race transformed a few years ago, from a circuit event to a point-to-point contest with a demanding final loop, which has turned it into one of the longest one-day classics in the WorldTour (250km) and a very hilly one, with 4000m elevation gain and up to 64 little climbs.

Other than the gravel road sector in Saoutalarin -3500m of offroad terrain, starting after 186km-, we’re also underlining at this preview the three climbs into the final circuit: Lezot (239km; 1.4km at 4%), Toul el Len (242km; 500m at 4.6%) and, most importantly, Pont-Neuf (248km), over 1,500 meters at 4% and a very fast run-in towards the finish line. To get a better grasp of the route, we suggest you give a look at the comprehensive route description on the roadbook.
