IS THERE ANYTHING SHE DOESN’T DO WELL? Coming from slalom skiing in her early sportswoman years, Cat Ferguson has been, during her two-year junior cycling stage, the biggest factor in the world of cycling. Equally brilliant on the road, track and cyclo-cross; full of podiums, victories and jerseys over her 18 months in that category; limitless in all scenarios and terrains, shining brightly everywhere. A talent with lots to learn and offer, who will be racing – from the summer of 2024 and at least for three more years – in Movistar Team colours.
RAISING EYEBROWS – IN A REALLY GOOD WAY. Her signing announced the year prior, Ferguson’s first real experience with her Blue team-mates came when she joined the pre-season Alicante camp in January 2024, where Cat was able to follow the pace from the main climbers just before the start of the season – she came off the back of a spectacular CX season herself – and impressed everybody with her respect, charm and enormous quality on the bike.
TWO VICTORIES – WHILE STILL A TRAINEE!. A trainee for the Telefónica-backed squad in the races prior to the Zürich Worlds, she soon took many barriers down. Second-placed in her debut competition, Choralis Fourmies in France, and seventh – at the peloton’s sprint behind new team-mate Mareille Meijering – at no less than the ProSeries event Stuttgart GP, she went on to claim her first two pro victories at a stage of the Tour de la Semois and Binche-Chimay-Binche.
