Pablo Lastras

Pablo Lastras

Sports Director

One of the riders who knew best how to fit inside a team and support all of his team-mates in different situations, both in and out of the races. Pablo Lastras became in 2017 again a part of the team that changed his life. After three years in the amateur squad and 18 in the pro outfit, the Madrilian, with more than a dozen victories and successes in all three Grand Tours (Giro, Tour, Vuelta), was back to the Abarca Sports organisation to keep leading with his example.

Happily recovered from the serious crash which put an end to his career in the 2015 Volta a Catalunya, he started carrying duties as sports director four years ago -also making his Grand Tour debut at the 2017 Vuelta a España-, and is a fundamental piece of the team in order to breed the youngsters of a group that has significantly changed its face in recent years. He’s also the main DS for the women’s team, whose character and skills have been largely influenced by Lastras’ work in its first four seasons.
