Movistar Team unable to repeat their brilliant 6th place last year in Valkenburg, a flat route seeing the Blues defending themselves for 10th spot

The Movistar riders finished again within the best ten of a team time trial -they don’t leave the top board of the classification since the 2012 Giro d’Italia- with another decent performance amongst the best squads against the clock. The telephone squad was 10th at the TTT Worlds in Tuscany, over 57.2 kilometers between Montecatini Terme and Florence.

The route, full of long, flat straights, conditioned the chances by the Blues’ six -Plaza, Castroviejo, Costa, Amador, Teruel and Jesús Herrada, the only one to drop in the final part-, directed by José Luis Arrieta and Eusebio Unzué. That was one of the reasons why they couldn’t repeat last year’s sensational 6th place nor compete for the medals, claimed by Omega Pharma (gold), Orica-GreenEdge (silver) and Sky (bronze.)
