Movistar Team is the longest-standing and most successful team in the UCI WorldTour, the top tier of international cycling, which brings together the 18 best men’s teams in the world.
In 2025, the men’s team reaches its 46th consecutive season at the elite level, with a roster of 29 riders. They are joined by the 18 riders that make up the women’s squad, active since 2018 and now entering its eighth season, and its sixth as a member of the UCI Women’s WorldTour. A large technical staff completes a structure with over 100 total employees.
Some of the standout names on the 2025 roster include Enric Mas, Liane Lippert, Nairo Quintana, Marlen Reusser, Pablo Castrillo, Sara Martín, Iván Romeo, Cat Ferguson, Javier Romo, Paula Patiño, and Einer Rubio.
Throughout its more than four-decade history, the team has had only five main sponsors: Reynolds (aluminum, 1980–89), Banesto (bank, 1990–2003), Illes Balears (tourism, 2004–05), Caisse d’Épargne (savings bank, 2006–10), and Telefónica (telecommunications, 2011–present). The squad is managed by the company Abarca Sports, S.L., based in Egüés, Navarra (Spain).
In addition to more than 1,000 victories as a Europe-based professional men’s team—and over 100 as a women’s squad—the team has finished first in the UCI team world ranking six times: in 1992, 2008, and—under the Movistar Teamname—for four consecutive years from 2013 to 2016.
