Analysis

Germany will be kicking off its biggest week in men’s cycling -extended by the recently-recovered Deutschland-Tour, a race the Movistar Team will be present at in 2019- with the Hamburg Cyclassics, one of the UCI WorldTour’s best sprinter-suited races, again focused on the Waseberg climb (four ascents; last time through its top 15km from the end).

The hill, 800m at nearly 9% average with maximum slopes at 16%, will be the center of a race which usually sees an interesting pursuit developing in its finale, between those classics riders daring to go from the Waseberg and the sprinters’ teams, chasing them down.
