Analysis

The final week of racing for the Movistar Team in 2019 takes the Blues into northern Italy for the final days of pro competition in Europe. Once again, the Telefónica-backed squad will be lining up at a beautiful Tre Valli Varesine, with the sweet flavor of racing in this part of the country and a circuit hard enough to bring some fireworks without completely ruling out a chance for a small group’s sprint at the end.

It’s actually two different loops in this 198km race from Saronno to Varese. The first one, over five laps, features the climbs of Via Montello (2km at 5%) and Bobbiate / Casbeno, with around 2km over slopes at nearly 6%. 52km the end, the riders will tackle a longer circuit (two laps), combining those ascents with Morosolo (1.7km, 7.5%) and Casciago, 2km at 5%.
