Analysis

Focused on shining in the international scene yet never forgetting its Spanish roots, the Movistar Team will be back at the 2019 Spanish Racing Series, a competition with a calendar much better spreaded out during the season this year -March to July, instead of April to May-.

The squad directed by Pablo Lastras, the Blues’ main DS for most of the series, will line up during the ‘Copa de España’, and depending on its international duties, all of its eight-woman national roster, together with Colombian Paula Patiño, who lives in Pamplona during the season and has also been listed by the Blues at the official RFEC registration.

The 2nd edition of the GP Ciudad de Eibar -a Basque-categorized event last year and now a top-tier Spanish race- will comprise of 78km with two very distinct parts. Riders will head coastbound in the beginning, visiting the famous villages of Mutriku and Deba in a quite easy opening sixty kilometers, before turining back to Etxebarria and starting the Alto de San Miguel (Cat-3), 5.1km at 4.7% which will surely split the peloton before the uphill finish in the same streets where the famous amateur race Memorial Valenciaga finishes.
