Analysis

Between the Giro Donne and the Tour Femmes, a third block from the Movistar Team -led by Emma Norsgaard, also set to be at the start of the ‘Grande Boucle’- will line up in the second week of July at the Baloise Ladies Tour, a race of fast speeds and low elevation on Belgian soil, yet with a short opener in the Netherlands.

A prologue of less than 3km in Vlissingen (Wednesday 12th), quite technical, will be followed by a flat, nervous, maybe really windy stages, probably decided into bunch sprints or even some sneaky breaks. The GC outcome should be decided by bonus seconds or, more importantly, the second time trial, a 18km effort in Knokke-Heist (Saturday 15th), part of a double sector with a road stage in the morning + an evening ITT.
