Iván Gutiérrez and Imanol Erviti, two of the most respected helpers in the World Tour, extend their contracts with the Movistar Team

With Lastras, Rojas, Visconti, Intxausti, Plaza and the Herrada brothers already confirmed to stay in Blue before the Vuelta a España, Movistar Team has recently sealed renewals from two of their most appreciated domestiques, Imanol Erviti and Iván Gutiérrez, who will stay for two and one more seasons at Eusebio Unzué’s service, respectively. Both were crucial for the team’s leader Alejandro Valverde in the recent Vuelta a España and made part of the Blue roster for the last three editions of the Tour de France.

Erviti (Pamplona, Navarra, 29) will reach his 10th season in the pro ranks, always into Unzué’s structure, having raced 14 Grand Tours (stage winner in the Vuelta, in 2008 and 2010). In turn, Gutiérrez (Hinojedo, Cantabria, 34), still the only Spaniard to have won an under-23 ITT World Championship (silver medalist within the pros in 2005), will be fulfilling his 15th year in the top tier of cycling, with more than twenty victories including five Spanish championships (four TT titles and one ‘rojigualda’ jersey in the road race.)
