Valverde leads strong Movistar Team at first of two Italian classics for the telephone squad in the beginning of October

After huge success in the 2013 Toscana World Championships, the Movistar Team will keep competing on Italian soil in search for the last chances to increase an already impressive victory tally this season, up to 30 after Sunday’s rainbow jersey.

Before the Tour of Beijing (Friday 11-Tuesday 15) and Il Lombardia this very Sunday -the last two stops of the World Tour and the telephone squad’s own schedule-, an expedition directed by Chente García Acosta will take part tomorrow in the 94th Milano-Torino, the oldest race in the international calendar -with its first edition held in 1876-, over 193km and two climbs towards the Basilica di Superga.

Alejandro Valverde will lead a strong eight-man squad also including two of the team members in the Florence road race: Giovanni Visconti and Andrey Amador. The Blue lineup is completed by Italian Eros Capecchi and Spaniards Jesús Herrada, Beñat Intxausti, Iván Gutiérrez and Enrique Sanz.
