Sports fans and viewers from around the globe will be able to enjoy, starting this weekend, season two of ‘The Least Expected Day’, a documentary series produced by TBS and directed by José Larraza and Marc Pons on the Movistar Team, the longest-standing, most decorated squad in professional cycling.

‘The Least Expected Day’ -both Seasons One and Two- is available globally on Netflix, with the new episodes released on Friday 28th May. Spanish fans will also be available to watch on #Vamos, the sports channel exclusive to users of the Movistar+ platform.

Six episodes, around half an hour long each, again compose a unique document, its immense value recognised by experts and fans alike as one of the most open, unfiltered inside views from a professional sports team.

Filmed between August 2020 and January 2021, ‘The Least Expected Day’ covers the restart of racing after the hardest months of the pandemic, again focusing -yet not restricting the series to- the Grand Tours of cycling: the Tour, the Giro and La Vuelta -the latter two covered simultaneously-. It was a challenging year for the Blues, with a change of guard and reconstruction for a structure still able to collect success after four decades of uninterrupted trajectory.

Alejandro Valverde, Imanol Erviti, José Joaquín Rojas, Max Sciandri, Carlos Verona, Eusebio Unzué, Marc Soler, José Luis Arrieta, Chente García Acosta and Pablo Lastras are again big protagonists of a series which also features new characters in Patxi Vila and Enric Mas, who started their Movistar Team careers in 2020. The series now also features the women’s team, part of one of the chapters in Season Two.
