Supporting their junior squads

Blues to help Basque organisation's men's and women's junior programs, with several of their sponsors involved

Loyal to the commitment, represented during the better part of a half century, to support their local and national roots, the Movistar Team will back from 2024 the work by Elkar Kirolak, the cycling school managing Cafés Baqué, a legendary squad with more than four decades of existence (est. 1978).

The Movistar Team has signed a long-term partnership through which the prestigious Basque development organisation will enjoy support from Abarca Sports for it’s women’s and men’s junior programs.

The Cafés Baqué squads will be equipped, amongst other Movistar Team sponsors, with Canyon bikes and 226ERS nutrition. The M from Movistar, Abarca’s title sponsors, will also be featured at both rosters’ race clothing.

The Movistar Team thus links its legacy to a legendary brand in Spanish cycling, Cafés Baqué, present in the amateur and professional peloton for more than forty years and now in the junior step of the pyramid. The two longest-standing structures in our country’s sport, amateur and pro, get together to detect and foster talent to Spain’s success on two wheels.
