Analysis

The 2019 UCI Women’s WorldTour starts in style, with one of its most demanding and attractive courses. The Strade Bianche condenses in just 136km a brutal 31,000 meters of sterrato, white gravel roads of Tuscany where only the strongest survives.

The eight sectors are divided into eight zones. The early part of the race includes the Monteroni d’Arbia section (67km), 9.5 kilometers with some tough slopes which will surely filter out the group. The second, featuring the shorter stretches of Vico d’Arbia (112km), Colle Pinzuto (117km) and Le Tolfe (123km), will bring the long-range attacks for victory from those who don’t want to wait for the brutal slope in the city, Via Santa Caterina, just one kilometer from the finish at Piazza del Campo.
