Analysis

The Movistar Team will be resuming its competitive schedule post-Worlds as they try to defend their brilliant 2022 overall victory -with Alex Aranburu- at the Tour du Limousin. The event offers an even harder parcours for 2023, with no respite over its four stages.

The ascent of Saint-Goussaud (5km, 5%), 15km from the stage one uphill finish in Bénévent l’Abbaye (Tuesday 15th); and the final slope in Trélissac (Wednesday 16th), after a very demanding first half of stage two, will preceed the Queen route on Thursday 17th, +3,200m elevation with a tough hill-top finish in Bort les Orgues (5km at 6%). Friday 18th will take the curtains down with the traditional Limoges finishing circuit.
