Vuelta a San Juan
1139 Kilometers 7 Stages
The race will be broadcast live on Eurosport and GCN.
There will be 10-6-4″ at every finish, plus 3-2-1″ at the intermediate sprints.
One of the last few races to return after the pandemic, the Vuelta a San Juan retains its status as the highest-ranked UCI road event in South America. And just like it did until 2020, the Argentinian stagerace will probably decide its GC outcome with the endless climb to the Alto Colorado (Friday 27th), finishing at over 2,600m above sea level.
In between, there will be plenty of chances for the sprinters, with crosswinds and breakaways as main threats and two other mountainous routes: the one up the Ruta Nacional 150, towards Jáchal on Monday 23rd -which could still end up as a ‘volata’-, and most importantly day four to Barreal (Wednesday 25th), before the rest day, with the ascent to the Gruta Virgen de Andecollo (Cat-1; 2,200m).
