Male Team 25 Aug
GP Plouay
125.5 Kilometers
The Grand Prix de Plouay will be, barring any last-minute exception, the last one-day competition in the 2018 season for the Movistar Team in the UCI Women’s WorldTour -excluding the World Championships-. It’s also one of the most demanding races of the season, over 125km which include no less than 14 main climbs and lots of ups and downs allowing for no respite… but not ruling out significantly-sized fields reaching the finishing straight together for a sprint.
The race’s route is made of four laps of a longer circuit, almost 28km, and a final loop over the same course the men will cover one day later (14.7km). The long circuit features the Côte du Moulin (1.6km), the Côte de Pont Callec (14.8km) and, above them, Ty-Marrec, whose summit will be 4.1km from every passage through the finish. The last lap only includes the ascents to Moulin and Ty-Marrec, avoiding flatter terrain to make regroupings more difficult.
