Lotto Belgium Tour
346 Kilometers 4 Stages
The 5th edition of the Lotto Belgium Tour -a sort of women’s Tour of Belgium, though ridden entirely on Flemish roads- will be the final stagerace on foreign soil for the Movistar Team in their debut 2018 season. The month of September will kick off for the ladies directed by Jorge Sanz with a four-day even characterized by the climb, on the last stage (Friday 7th), of the biggest symbol in Belgian cycling: the Kapelmuur / Mur de Grammont.
Three days earlier (Tuesday 4th), the race will start in Nieuwpoort, in the Flemish coast, with a prologue of less than four kilometers, which will set some significant first differences. Stage one (Wednesday 5th) will bring the sprinters a clear chance, with only the gentle Kerkhof Moorslede hill as main obstacle into Dadizele’s circuit.
The ascents of the Eikenstraat and the Kapiteelberg during stage two in Herselt (Thursday 6th) will try and split the peloton before the decisive stage atop the ‘Muur’, also including two other hills pretty close to each other and Grammont: the Onzerkelestraat and the Edingsesteenweg.
