First signing for 2018

Argentinian climber signs maiden WorldTour contract through end of 2019, after five seasons in the French ProContinental scene

Eduardo Sepúlveda (ARG, 26) will wear the Movistar Team jersey in the 2018 and 2019 seasons. The rider from Rawson, in the southern province of Chubut, will finally take the leap towards the WorldTour peloton after spending five years in the ranks of the Fortuneo-Oscaro squad (named Bretagne in 2013-2015).

A solid climber, Sepúlveda has claimed two pro victories -both in France at the Classic Sud Ardèche and the Tour de Doubs-; finished 2nd in the GC of the Tour de San Luis and the Tour of Turkey; and ridden the last three Tours de France. One of Argentina’s finest riders to have ever made part of the European peloton, Eduardo has also won medals at the Panamerican Games on three different disciplines (individual time trial, individual pursuit and team pursuit).
