Movistar Team not harmed by crashes in Australia
19 January 2011

Crashes were again the main figures during the 2nd stage of the Tour Under, the opening race of the 2011 World Tour. The Movistar Team riders were able to escape from falls for the second day in a row as many of the big sprinters in the peloton went down. Still, José Joaquín Rojas could not contest the day’s finish as a flat tire occured in the key part of the stage.

The Spaniard was lucky enough to have the mechanical inside the 3-kilometer protection area, and will only see his position overall relegated on the position count, his time loss on the day not counted. The good news on Wednesday came from Movistar Team’s Fran Ventoso, showing good form in the Australian race with his 9th place.
