It was a calm day for the eight riders of Movistar Team at the second stage of the Tour Méditerranéen. Frenchman Romain Feillu (VCD) took the sprint victory after leading the group that followed the breakaway in yesterday’s stage, while all lads led by Yvon Ledanois came safely into the main field.
Navarran Javier Iriarte, 4th on Wednesday’s outing, keeps this way his privileged top-10 position overall before tomorrow’s stage, which will witness the first Cat. 1 ascent of the race to L’Espigoulier before the finish in La Farlede, 130 kilometers in total. French champion Thomas Voeckler (EUC) is still in yellow despite the time gain by Feillu.
