Catalunya awaits for Movistar Team

With the ambition to join the race's exploits on its centenary edition, Movistar Team will take the start of the Volta a Catalunya, the first out of four World Tour races on Spanish soil, on Monday.

The telephone squad will be making part of the most special edition of the Catalan race with a group led by local Xavi Tondo –stage winner and 2nd overall last year-, who will be accompanied by Mauricio Soler, Beñat Intxausti, José Joaquín Rojas, Imanol Erviti, Fran Pérez, Javier Iriarte and Luis Pasamontes. The Volta del Centenari will be held over seven road stages, with no time trials and only one mountain-top finish: the one in Andorra/Vallnord (Wednesday 23rd), over 184 kilometers with the climbs of Coubet (Cat. 1), Toses (Cat. 1), La Comella (Cat. 1), La Massana (Cat. 2) and the arrival of the Coll de Pal (HC).

Before that, on Saturday, the team managed by Eusebio Unzué will be participatin in the 102nd Milano-Sanremo, the Classicissima, one of the most  prestigious one-day races in the World Tour calendar. Movistar Team will present a team formed up by most of the riders that recently rode the Tirreno-Adriático, with the main cards by sprinters José Joaquín Rojas and Fran Ventoso. Alongside them, Ángel Madrazo, Andrey Amador, Pablo Lastras, Vasil Kiryienka, Ignatas Konovalovas and Marzio Bruseghin.
