Romandie, Asturias preceed Giro action

With the aim to keep the excellent streak on the month of April -five victories, including yesterday's win by Imanol Erviti in the Vuelta a la Rioja-, Movistar Team will be lining up from tomorrow in the last two races before the Giro d'Italia, starting on Saturday, May 7th.

A first block directed by José Luis Arrieta and Yvon Ledanois will be taking part in the 65th Tour de Romandie, a six-day World Tour event where Tuesday’s short prologue, Wednesday’s mountain-top finish and a 20-km individual time trial on Saturday will play the key factors. Movistar Team will show up with David López, Beñat Intxausti, Rui Costa, Chente García Acosta, Ignatas Konovalovas, Branislau Samoilau and youngsters Enrique Sanz and Jesús Herrada.

In the meantime, a second roster from the telephone squad will be riding from Thursday in the 55th Vuelta a Asturias, whose five-day route -absorbing the traditional Subida al Naranco as its final stage- will go on the demanding roads of the Asturian Principality, with two mountain-top finishes and a 15km individual time trial in the evening sector on Friday. José Luis Jaimerena will be directing a 7-man squad -Ángel Madrazo will not take part due to injury- composed by Imanol Erviti, Andrey Amador, Carlos Oyarzun, Javier Iriarte, Iván Gutiérrez, Fran Pérez and local Luis Pasamontes.
