Madrid clashes with Giro start
05 May 2011

With their sights set on the start of the Giro d'Italia in Torino, Movistar Team closes the Spanish cycling spring this weekend as no more races will be held before late June's National championships.

The 25th edition of the Vuelta a la Comunidad de Madrid, a UCI 2.1 race keeping its two-day, 3-stage program from last year, will be offering a double sector on Saturday –a 7.8k individual time trial in Madrid’s Casa de Campo park in the morning, followed by a circuit race around Coslada in the evening- plus a hard mountain stage finishing atop the Puerto de Morcuera on Sunday. For this race, Yvon Ledanois will be leading a block composed by Iván Gutiérrez, Imanol Erviti, Rui Costa, Fran Pérez, Chente García Acosta, Javier Iriarte, Jesús Herrada and Enrique Sanz.
