Dauphiné opens the way to the Tour

Still remembering of their successful haul after the recently finished Giro d'Italia, Movistar Team return into racing manners on Sunday. The Blue squad will head into French soil to take part in the Critérium du Dauphiné, a UCI World Tour race held until Sunday 12th over a course marked by several mountain-top finishes.

Yvon Ledanois and José Luis Jaimerena will lead a telephone squad formed up by Rui Costa, David López, Beñat Intxausti, Andrey Amador, Imanol Erviti, Jesús Herrada, Fran Pérez and Chente García Acosta.

The race will take off with a 5.5k individual prologue in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, prior to the first road stage in Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse, finishing atop a Cat. 2 climb. The individual time trial in Grenoble (42k) in the fourth day of racing will open up the first gaps between the favourites, just before the decisive point in the race with three mountain-top arrivals in the weekend. Specially demanding will be the last two at Le Collet d’Allevard (HC) and La Toussuire (Cat. 1), the last one including the pass through the HC Col du Glandon.
