08 June 2011

A sensational performance by Portuguese rider Rui Costa in the third stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné, a demanding 42k individual time trial in Grenoble, took the Movistar Team into 10th place on a route with pouring rain all over the day where the other riders from the telephone squad made the day with no major complications.

The great ITT by Costa takes him into the 5th position of the overall classification, led now by Briton Bradley Wiggins (SKY) –German Tony Martin won the day’s stage- before the 3-day mountain rain awaiting for the riders in the routes of Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Before that, Thursday’s stage will feature the easiest route of this year’s French event: the 175km La Motte Servolex-Mâcon.
