Switzerland marks alternative route to TdF
09 June 2011

At the same time a French expedition completes the Critérium du Dauphiné on Sunday, a second Movistar Team block will start their participation in the 75th Tour de Suisse, the last World Tour-ranked race before the imminent Tour de France.

The Helvetic stagerace offers nine stages -it will conclude on Sunday 19th-, starting in Lugano with a 7km prologue and finishing in Schaffhausen with a 31km individual time trial. Three mountain-top finishes are on the way: Crans-Montana (St. 2), Triesenberg-Malbun (St. 6) and Serfaus (St. 7). José Luis Arrieta and José Luis Jaimerena will direct a group formed up by Pablo Lastras, Branislau Samoilau, Mauricio Soler, Marzio Bruseghin, Iván Gutiérrez, Ángel Madrazo, José Joaquín Rojas and Fran Ventoso.
