Restless in L’Angliru’s hell

Intxausti, Bruseghin repeat on race front into Vuelta's decisive day, keep offensive attitud from Movistar Team high before rest day 2 prior to an exciting final week Movistar Team went again on an unrewarded effort in the most spectacular stage of the 2011 Vuelta a España. The final ascent to L'Angliru, with its hellish slopes up to 23%, offered a new turn into the overall ranks as local Juanjo Cobo (GEO) took the day's win and the red jersey while the riders from the telephone squad fought from the first big ascent, the Alto del Cordal (Cat. 1) to stay on the front. There, Marzio Bruseghin repeated solo the action done yesterday alongside teammate Beñat Intxausti and gained up to twenty seconds over the GC group with Sastre (GEO), Martin (GRM) and Moncoutié (COF), losing some meters near the summit but bouncing back into a solo lead after the descent to start the final mountain at the fore. After being nutralized, Intxausti himself tried to put some strength into the first part of the Asturian colossus, just to see himself being surpassed by the big favourites. Sergio Pardilla, three minutes behind the day's winner, is still in 14th place overall -Bruseghin keeps an identical 19th place- before the second rest day, held in León for the riders from Blue squad before the third, decisive week of racing.
