Tour de San Luis - st. 2

The Cantabrian, 7th on Monday, gets 4th today at Argentina's second sprint, with Chicchi (OPQ) on back-to-back victories. First mountain-top finish scheduled for tomorrow

Movistar Team is still on top of the teams’ ranking of the 6th Tour de San Luis after the second day of racing on Argentinian turf, a 145km trek from Fraga to Juana Koslay. Another bunch sprint decided the race’s outcome -with almost the full bunch into contention after yesterday’s splits-, with the race leader Francesco Chicchi (OPQ) proving himself again as the fastest before his teammate Tom Boonen, American Luke Keough (UHC) and Fran Ventoso, who comes closer to the victory. 7th yesterday, the Spaniard will try for his opportunities in the two final stages to be likely getting into bunch kicks. Before that, the mountains are arriving with tomorrow’s traditional, mountain-top finish in the Mirador del Potrero -5 km on 7% average gradient-, the Cat. 1 climb taking to the end of the 168km route starting at Estancia Grande.
