Fran Ventoso takes 4th at the mass sprint in Quines, where Movistar Team contested a stage victory they will keep searching tomorrow on the final stage in Argentina

Fran Ventoso is still looking for a stage win in the 2012 Tour de San Luis as he came 4th today in the bunch kick deciding the sixth day of racing, in the longest route of the event over 201 kilometers from Luján to Quines via the early Cerro El Amago (Cat. 1). The Movistar Team sprinter had his team mates working for him into the way home, but couldn’t beat Italian Elia Viviani (LIQ), who grabbed the day’s honours ahead of Juan José Haedo (SAX) and Andrea Guardini (FAR) into a finish with several direction changes in the closing meters. The telephone squad will hurry for a stage win in the seventh, final day tomorrow, starting and ending in San Luis as American Levi Leipheimer (OPQ) looks set to retain the overall lead, with Andrey Amador in 10th place after today’s finish.
