Prueba Villafranca

The Prueba Villafranca-Clásica de Ordizia, with Lastras's comeback, starts the post-Tour calendar for the Blues only three days after the end of the Grande Boucle

Only three days after concluding their participation in the Tour de France, Movistar Team will be on the road again this Wednesday to take part in the oldest one-day race on Spanish soil. The 89th edition of the Prueba Villafranca-Clásica de Ordizia in the Gipuzkoa province will mark Pablo Lastras‘s return to competition, two and a half months after the serious crash forcing him to abandon the Giro d’Italia. Together with the Madrilian -3rd for the last two editions- will be Ángel Madrazo -5th in 2011-, David López, brothers José and Jesús Herrada, Javier Iriarte, Enrique Sanz and Andrey Amador, also coming back into racing after his rest following the Critérium du Dauphiné.

The telephone squad, directed by José Luis Jaimerena, will tackle the traditional route of the Basque race: 166 kilometers with five climbs towards Abaltzisketa (Cat. 3) and two over Altzo (Cat. 3), combined after the third passage through the finish to offer a parcours difficult to control and with two ascents in the final 20k.
