Signing

Youngster Alex Dowsett, winner of the last two editions of the ITT National champs and 8th placed at the 2012 Worlds, will ride at Eusebio Unzué's squad in 2013

The reigning British individual time trial champion, Alex Dowsett (Essex, 1988) will compete in the Movistar Team jersey during the next season. The young Englishman, who turned 24 earlier this month, is one of the best ITT specialists in the world, as shown by his two victories in the elite national championships (2011, 2012) and the 8th spot in the Worlds in Valkenburg.

British champion at both junior (road race) and under-23 (twice at the ITT) ranks, his European individual time trial gold in 2010 and the silver medal achieved at the Commonwealth Games opened the doors for him at the Sky team, where he made his WorldTour debut at the age of 22, notching up two stage wins at the Tour of Britain and the Tour de Poitou-Charentes. In 2012, and despite a fractured elbow in March, he bounced back to conquer a second title at the British ITT, claim runner-up at the road race and achieve a spot within the best ten in the World Championships.
