Movistar Team take on two important WorldTour races in June, the month before the 100th Tour de France, after successful performances in the Giro d'Italia

After their spectacular Giro d’Italia, and just one month ahead of the Tour de France, the Movistar Team continues its quest for victory as their riders face two of the most important WorldTour races in the calendar, the Critérium du Dauphiné and the Tour de Suisse. The French event, starting on Sunday in Champéry, features eight stages, including a 32-kilometer time trial on Wednesday and plenty of mountains -28 categorized climbs-, with hilltop finishes in Valmorel (HC, Thursday), Superdévoluy (Saturday) and Risoul (Sunday). The telephone squad, directed by José Luis Jaimerena and José Luis Laguía, will bring a strong 8-man roster with Alejandro Valverde -winner of the race in 2008 and 2009-, Jonathan Castroviejo, Eros Capecchi, Imanol Erviti, José Herrada, Ángel Madrazo, Eloy Teruel and Sylwester Szmyd

The two final days of the Dauphiné -Saturday 8 and Sunday 9- will clash with the depart of the 77th Tour de Suisse, over nine stages until Sunday, June 16. There, a Movistar Team block led José Luis Arrieta and Chente García Acosta will lineup with 2012 champion Rui Costa, alongside Vladimir Karpets -overall winner in 2007-, Giovanni Visconti, Andrey Amador, José Joaquín Rojas, Iván Gutiérrez, Jesús Herrada and Enrique Sanz. The Helvetic race presents a hard route, with a prologue in Ticino’s Quinto (8.1km) followed by two mountain stages in Crans-Montana (the place where Mauricio Soler claimed his last pro win) and Meiringen -with the Halisberg pass (Cat-1) just 15km from the end-. Stage eight, with the infamous Albulapass (2,315m) en route to La Punt, and the demanding, 26-km time trial (the last 10 uphill) in Flumserberg will be the other key stages in the race.
